New Orleans, Louisiana – USA

Roger actually lived in New Orleans part time when he was a commercial diver in the US Oil Fields in the Gulf Of Mexico between 2010 and 2013. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination in the US. It is a party city with a ton of history. When you think of New Orleans you think of Jazz and of course Bourbon Street!

Bourbon Street is in the heart of the French Quarter. The entire Quarter is a feast for the senses. The grand Architecture and colors nestle behind beautiful trees and wrought iron. The sounds of music from Jackson square fill the air all day long. Street performers and shop keepers begin their day around 10:30 am. A Slow trickle of tourist make their way through the quarter to Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee before heading to the French market. One of the oldest outdoor markets in the US, operating daily since 1791!

At 8:00pm the baracades go up and Bourbon street is shut down to cars. A parade of Bars, restarants and everything else you can imagine. During Carnival leading up to Ash Wednesday are daily parades and parties that culminate on Mardi Gras. If you are in New Orleans for any of that craziness, you better not have any personal space issues because it will be one of the most crowded events you have ever been to! Be sure to check out the Uptown District for a slower local pace and feel.
